On Thursday, local media reported that Nurkovic had agreed a deal with Royal AM as he continues his push for a move away from Chiefs.

In 2020 when Gavin Hunt took over, Nurkovic wanted out but Chiefs couldn’t let him go because they were still banned from signing new players.

As a result, Chiefs offered him an increased package while they also added an option to renew his contract for a further year to please Nurkovic.

Chiefs still have that option, but what is unclear, at this stage, is whether or not there is a set date to trigger the said option.

Now, Simac said the reports of Nurkovic joining Royal AM are not true, before adding they are still in discussions with Chiefs over the player’s future.

Nonetheless, Simac confirmed huge interest in Nurkovic who once caught the eye of a number of North African teams, including Al Ahly and Pyramids.

AGENT ON REPORTS THAT NURKOVIC IS LEAVING KAIZER CHIEFS FOR ROYAL AM

“This is not true,” Simac told SABC Sport.

“Of course, there has been a lot of interest in Samir, but he is still a Chiefs player and we are talking to the club about the future. I don’t know anything about the rumours that he will be joining Royal AM.”

Over the last two seasons, Nurkovic hasn’t been able to replicate the same form that made him hot property in his first season at Chiefs.

At the time, Nurkovic netted 14 times in 31 competitive matches for Chiefs but he lost form in his second and third seasons as he couldn’t hit the double figures.
