After missing out on seeing any of their players win anything at the PSL awards in May, Kaizer Chiefs fans have something to celebrate.

OFFICIAL: MARITZBURG UNITED ANNOUNCE JOHN MADUKA AS NEW COACH

On Wednesday, the league together with their main sponsor DStv, announced the winner of the DStv Premiership Goal of the Season award.

Chiefs star Nkosingiphile Ngcobo accumulated the most votes in the category which was dominated by his teammates, and consequently walked away with the individual gong.

Ngcobo netted the goal from outside the box as Chiefs beat Sekhukhune United in the league in December 2021.

The goal also won the Goal of the Month award for December in what was also a voted category which Chiefs fans often dominate.

WHO DID NGCOBO BEAT TO THE GOAL OF THE SEASON AWARD?

Ngcobo beat Orlando Pirates midfielder Deon Hotto who scored a similar goal to his his, from a free-kick situation, against Stellenbosch FC.

He also beat Dolly who had been nominated twice for his goals against Chippa United over the two legs.

The strike also beat Reeve Frosler’s right-footed goal against Orlando Pirates in that 2-1 win for the Glamour Boys.

Ngcobo’s bullet goal was voted the best ahead of that of Royal AM’s Thabo Matlaba whose curler left the goalkeeper with no chance.
