Mzingisi Tshomela, better known as Danger, has reportedly been arrested by police in Amanzimtoti after he was found in possession of drugs.

The 39-year-old — who is a member of the Durban kwaito group, Big Nuz, along with Mampintsha — has already appeared at the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Monday 6 June and is set to appear again on Friday 10 June, Isolezwe reports.

DANGER ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE LAW

According to a source, Danger was arrested at his manager, DJ Kotini’s house. The musician was allegedly in possession of cocaine when the police arrested him, Daily Sun reports.

Another source told Isolezwe that DJ Kotini was also arrested for drug dealing, albeit at a different location and in possession of heroin.

“There’s a bit of confusion as to what transpired as DJ Kotini was arrested in the Eastern Cape. The police had been looking for him on different and more severe charges. He was found in possession of drugs when he was arrested,” the mole said.

The source also alleged that someone tipped the police off as Danger and DJ Kotini’s drug dealing was kept under wraps.

“Many of their peers do not know that they have been arrested. Everyone’s been wondering how DJ Kotini has been affording all of his expensive cars, but now it makes sense,” continued the source.

POLICE CONFIRM ARRESTS

KZN police spokeswoman, Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo, confirmed Danger’s arrest to Daily Sun.

“On 5 June at about 14:00, a 39-year-old male was arrested at Athlone Park in Amanzimtoti for possession of cocaine,” Ngcobo was quoted as saying.

On Thursday, Isolezwe reported that Ngcobo confirmed the arrest of two musicians.

This is a developing story.
