The body of an unidentified man who was bludgeoned and stabbed at least forty (40) times was discovered in overgrown vegetation on an unpaved road next to a river in Oakford in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
The body was reportedly discovered by a passerby on Tuesday, 28 June.
BODY WITH 40 STAB WOUNDS DISCOVERED IN KZN
According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), on arrival, Reaction Officers discovered a blood trail leading from the unpaved road to the body.
Medics reportedly examined the deceased and discovered multiple stab wounds to his neck, chest and back as well as blunt force trauma to his face.
“A pair of sandals were discovered on the road where the murder is believed to have occurred. He was then dragged into the bush. A broken beer bottle was also recovered along the blood trail.
“It could not be immediately confirmed if it was used in the killing. The motive for the murder has not been confirmed.”
FARMER MAKES GRUESOME DISCOVERY
In a separate incident, on Monday, 27 June, the body of an unidentified man with a gunshot wound to his head was discovered in a cane field in Inanda also in KZN.
A farmer reportedly made the gruesome discovery. “On arrival, RUSA Medics examined the deceased who was lying in a prone position on an unpaved road. He sustained a gunshot wound to his head and right arm. The motive for the murder was not established,” RUSA said.
