Dept of Educations warns about fake Examination Assistant post

The Department of Education has dismissed a flyer making rounds inviting unemployed youth to apply for examination assistant positions on social media.

With a bold fake news mark running across the page, the poster which could have easily deceived an applicant because of its close resemblance to a Department of Education media statement read:

The Department of Education invites unemployed youth to apply for Examination Assistant positions for the November/ December 2022 marking sessions which will begin on the 9th of December 2022.

The neediest candidates will be prioritized.

Closing date: 29 July 2022.

The requirements were as follows:

* Must be a South African citizen with Grade 12.

* Must have no criminal record.

The post further informed applicants who wish to apply for the position should conform with the criteria, and that all appointments will be done at the Head Office to ensure equitable distribution of employment opportunities and to avoid biases.

If by any chance you bought into this ‘catchy’ post, unfortunately, it was fake.

Although such a programme exists from time-to-time, government would inform applicants about legitimate posts on its website.
