After a full on tweet exchange over the possibility of buying over Twitter from its founders and series of board meetings after Elon Musk bought 9.2% shares from the company, Mr Space X, Elon Reeve Musk has now bought over Twitter for $44billion.

Pressure did mount on the shareholders to sell the company to Elon after he made a bid too hard to beat or refuse. The eccentric 50year old entrepreneur had outlined an agenda if his bid was accepted by twitter. He promised that he would loosen content restrictions on Twitter and ban bots or automated accounts on the app as well as promote free speech.

In what looks like an announcement of the Twitter buyout, Elon tweeted a screenshot of a statement shared by Twitter board chair, Bret Taylor.

While some Twitter users have threatened to boycott the app if it was sold to Elon, the company blog has kept mum about the reported sale and its official handles haven’t commented either.
