Red Light Green Light, Sugar Honeycomb, Tug of War, Marbles, Hopscotch, and finally Squid Game. This might call to mind one of the most captivating Netflix series you have seen in recent times. It was in fact, the most watched series on Netflix. A fun fact is that all games in that series are real life games in Korean communities. The big question at the time was, can people play these games in the real world for real cash?

Confirmation for the second season of Squid Game has hit the internet. While most people are curious as to what the next games have in store for Gi-hun, Netflix is throwing out actual prize money for those who wish to compete in a reality show spinoff, “Squid Game: The Challenge“.

Squid Game season 2

Certain YouTube curators have already made attempts to create a real-life Squid Game contest. But they haven’t got the thrill that the original series came with. On its part, Netflix plans to perfectly create an actual Squid Game reality series. Having better knowledge of the series and funding to host such a reality series, Netflix is already accepting players.

The prize money is a whopping $4.56 million. Just like the series, a total of 456 people will go head to head against each other to win the prize money. Currently, there is no specific date for the premiere of the reality series, but its producers say to expect it early 2023. Netflix is also casting players from the UK, US and other parts of the world.

Because of the graphic and violent nature of the series, Netflix has had to clarify that no one will be hurt in the filming of the reality show and the age limit for applicants is 21 and above.

  • A valid international passport
  • A phone with good camera
  • Photographs; headshots, full length

If you are interested in competing with other players from all over the world, head over to the casting page and register. The entire series will stream on Netflix, this might be the company’s way of making up for its loss of subscribers. Whatever Netflix’s aim is with this reality series, it will gain attraction across the world.
