Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Arthur Zwane has lauded midfielder Dumisani Zuma for his impressive display against Stellenbosch on Saturday.

Zuma came on as a second half substitute in Amakhosi’s 1-0 loss to Stellies in what was his first appearance of the season for the club.
The midfielder didn’t get the chance to play under Stuart Baxter because of a long-term injury and his suspension by Chiefs in November 2021.

However, Zuma twice made the bench under Baxter, but Zwane, in his first game in charge post the Brit’s era, gave the attacker a chance.
And that’s because Zuma looks good at training, and while Zwane believes the player could have done better against Stellies, he was still impressed.

Zwane said the Chiefs technical team hopes Zuma continues to give the kind of performance he gave against Steve Barker’s side and be consistent.

“He looks good at training, Dumisani. As you could see, when he came on, he also changed the complexion of the game,” Zwane told reporters.
“Unfortunately, like I said, unfortunately, I believe he could have done even much better but it’s one of those things for the fact that he hasn’t been playing for some time now,” he added.
“But for him to go in there and show that courage and self-belief, and what he can do and what he’s made of… that was very good to see,” continued Zwane.
“And we encourage him more to believe in himself and give those kinds of performances, and be consistent,” he concluded.
