Kambole has failed to make an impact in South African football and after just two goals in three seasons for Chiefs, is linked to Zanaco FC.

Kambole has not convinced

Kambole arrived in South Africa with a big reputation, having impressed Chiefs while playing against them in the CAF Confederations Cup. Therefore, fans of the Amakhosi were initially excited about his acquisition, having witnessed first hand what he is capable. Even though he seemed to be a confident goal machine in Zambia, he has turned out to be a shadow of his former self at Chiefs.

Due to Kambole’s failure to convince any of the Chiefs coaches during his now three-years at the club, it is largely expected that the player will be deemed surplus to requirements and subsequently shown the door at the end of the season. It has hardly been a secret that the Soweto giants had put the player on the transfer list for at least a season and a half now, as different coaches must have all seen early on in his career in South African football, that he wasn’t going to be a success this side.

Chiefs were reportedly hoping to cash in, on the player at the start of this season and even in January but there were no buyers that came to the table. This despite widespread rumours that Tanzanian giants Yanga SC had sent a delegate to South Africa to strike a deal over Kambole. Perhaps, as a possible mitigating factor for the Zambian international’s failures, he got very little opportunity to play as the central striker, a position that he was thriving in, during his time in Zambia.
