A one-month-old baby girl was one of three people that died in a horrible accident involving two vehicles on the R39 Road near Lothair, Mpumalanga on Monday afternoon, 28 March.
ONE-MONTH-OLD DIES IN LOTHAIR ACCIDENT
South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said a blue VW Polo TSI and white Audi A3 sedan were allegedly involved in a head-on collision at approximately 15:30 on Monday.
The Polo was heading to Lothair from Ermelo and the Audi was heading in the opposite direction.
“…it is reported that the three passengers of the Polo lost their lives on the scene, a one-month-old baby girl, a 13-year-old boy and a 27-year-old woman,” said Mohlala.
The Audi’s two occupants sustained serious injuries in the accident while the driver of the Polo and two more passengers were also seriously injured.
All the injured patients were transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
The cause of the accident is unclear at this stage. The Lothair SAPS are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
