Mhango enjoyed little to no game time at Pirates this season, and speaking to The Nation newspaper, the attacker said he is relieved to be leaving the Soweto giants.

The Malawi international fell out of favour with Bucs coaching duo of Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids some time in 2021.

And even after his heroics at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Cameroon earlier this year, the Pirates technical team still continued to sideline Mhango.

The 29-year-old striker has featured just 10 times across all competitions for Pirates this season without finding the back of the net in open play.

MHANGO CONFIRMS DEPARTURE FROM ORLANDO PIRATES

“We had a meeting recently, and both parties agreed by mutual consent to part ways. It is a huge relief to me because I was hardly enjoying game time,” said Mhango as per The Nation publication.

“It has been a stressful season for me, and I can’t wait to move on and, hopefully, this will be a new dawn for my career.” he said.

“So, that’s where we are, and I am just waiting to see what will come up at the end of the season.”
