Who’s wearing what? Who’s bringing who? What does my hair look like? Matric dance is one of the most exciting events on the high school calendar. While most pupils are focused on what they will be wearing to matric dance, others are focused on which supercar will be dropping them off before they strut down the red carpet! 

According to social media car enthusiast page Motor Magnet, pupils at St Dunstan’s College in Benoni arrived at their matric dance in a Bugatti Veyron worth just over R30 million.

‘NOT YOUR AVERAGE MATRIC DANCE’

Taking to Twitter on Thursday 14 April, Motor Magnet shared an image of the cars at the St Dunstan’s College matric dance. The co-ed school is one of the few private schools situated in the east of Johannesburg. 

The image posted by Motor Magnet shows a luxury Bugatti Veyron, high-end Lamborghinis and even a Porsche! 

“Not your average matric dance,” wrote Motor Magnet.

Reacting to the photo, tweeps were stunned to see the supercars at the St Dunstan’s College matric dance. 

“Pulling up to a matric dance in a Bugatti is insane,” wrote one tweep. 

“Having one of the rarest cars in the country at a matric dance is a big flex,” wrote another tweep. 

“And people were shocked that a matriculant drove a Porsche,”

WHAT MAKES THE BUGATTI VEYRON SPECIAL? 

According to Bugatti’s website, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 can travel at a top speed of 415 km/h. The car can reach a speed of 100 km/h in two and a half seconds.

As per Car Price, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 sells for R33 million.
