South African media personality Somizi is one of many locals who have expressed their concern for legendary singer Lira, real name Lerato Molapo. Earlier this week, the star’s family shared that she had suffered a stroke that affected her ability to communicate and impacted her speech.
The news was met with sadness across the country as South Africans all over offered kind words and support toward Lira and her family.
Somizi latest celeb to wish Lira well
For many years Lira’s musical talent has graced our ears and the years of people across the world. This is why when her family shared that she had suffered a stroke while working in Germany earlier this week, millions of South Africans were devastated.
One of those people who have been shocked by the news is Idols SA judge Somizi Mhlongo. The famous media personality took some time out of his busy day to send some love and kindness Lira’s way.
Taking to Instagram, Somizi asked his fans and followers to keep the Feel Good singer in their prayers. He also added that he is positive she will be just fine.
“Our thoughts and prayers can make a huge difference… I ask of u to keep her in our prayers… I know she’s gonna come out triumphant… we love u @miss_lira”.
Back home and ready to heal
Meanwhile, Lira’s family has since announced that she is back in South Africa and ready to start her recovery process and is receiving treatment from the best medical team in the country.
“Her medical team has advised that her journey to recovery will require patience and therefore, it is unlikely that she will be able to perform in the short term.
“That said, Lira is in good spirits and is surrounded by her loving family and close friends as she journeys towards a full recovery,” the family’s statement read.
