A French coach has emerged as one of the candidates for the high profile coaching job, according to Soccer Laduma.

Media reports suggested that Stuart Baxter was close to securing a move to the Tanzanian outfit after he recently had a meeting with club CEO Barbara Gonzalez.

Baxter has been jobless since being sacked by Kaizer Chiefs shortly prior to the conclusion of the 2021/22 season.

However, it’s now been learnt that French coach Romain Folz is also in the race for the Simba SC job after his impressive work with Botswana topflight side Township Rollers since taking over in December last year.

Folz led Rollers to second place finish in the league.

If he doesn’t land the Simba SC job, sources suggest at least two DStv Premiership sides may be interested in his services.

“Township Rollers coach Romain Folz is one of the coaches in the running for the coaching job at Simba in Tanzania. He is assessing his options as there is a possibility of him also coming to the PSL next season. The coach’s South African-based representatives are talking to two PSL clubs,” said the source.
