Eskom to implement Stage 2 load shedding UNTIL MONDAY

Eskom announced that Stage 2 load shedding would be implemented from Tuesday afternoon, 3 May, until Monday morning due to a shortage in generation capacity.

Eskom said the electricity rationing would start at 17:00 on Tuesday and continue until 5:00 on 9 May.

“This load shedding has been caused by a shortage of generation capacity owing to delays in returning generators to service, as well as breakdowns of nine generators,” said the national power supplier.

UPDATE: Hillary Gardee found murdered with headwounds, still in the same clothes

Hillary Gardee, the daughter of former EFF secretary-general Godrich Gardee, Hillary, was found brutally murdered with wounds to her head on Tuesday morning.  

She was also found in the same clothes as she was last seen in. Hillary was last seen wearing a black top and black trousers.

Mother fights for hospital transfer closer to kids after holiday from hell

A mother of two who went out for the night with friends has been left with broken bones and a mountain of medical fees. She was being dropped off at home but the driver crushed her lower body before fleeing. She is now hospitalised in an unfamiliar province away from her children.

Stay at home mother Charlene Drotsky from Klerksdorp, North West was involved in a hit and run accident on 2 April, while on holiday with her fiancé, Corné Viljoen in Malmesbury, Cape Town.

Eerste River post office shootout: Two suspects, 21, arrested with cash

The Cape Town police arrested two men for their alleged involvement in an armed robbery at the post office at City Centre shopping centre in Eerste River on Tuesday, 3 May.

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi said two 21-year-old men were arrested after the Eerste River business robbery.

According to the spokesperson, the suspects were nabbed moments after the incident and an undisclosed amount of cash was found in their possession.
