An American woman living in China launched an international manhunt for her boyfriend who she feared may have ran into some trouble when visiting his family in the United Kingdom (UK), but she got the shock of her life when she learnt he was alive and well – with his wife and three children.
Rachel Waters lives in Shenzhen, where she works as a brand manager. According to The Sun, she met British national Paul McGee in the Chinese city and began a relationship with him. McGee’s friends claim he had also been working there when he became trapped by the pandemic – and hadn’t seen his wife in two years, as a result.
RACHEL WATERS ‘WORRIED SOMETHING MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED’ TO BOYFRIEND
Paul went home to the UK for a “visit,” but after more than a month went by and there was no word from him, Rachel grew concerned and turned to the internet to search for him. She wrote in a community Facebook group in his hometown of Norwich about her plight.
“I have an unusual ask. My boyfriend, Paul Magee, and I live in Shenzhen, China. He went home (Norwich) at the beginning of April to visit and was supposed to be back in China by now. However, I have not heard from him recently and am worried something might have happened. If anyone knows of anything, please reach out to me” she wrote.
It wasn’t long before a Facebook user claiming to be friends of Paul’s partner responded by saying: “Not really funny is it. He has a Mrs and children and I really feel for her right now! And another girlfriend in China it seems.”
Rachel ended up deleting her original post.
